Sr. Financial Analyst

In this role as Senior Financial Analyst you will be responsible for assessing the validity and accuracy of customer deductions as related to trade and promotions given to customers, as well as compliance-related deductions. This role is responsible for providing accurate and timely commission payments, analysis, and communication of commissions earned along with analyzing and processing the accruals for deductions & commissions for month-end close. Additionally, the position will be responsible for managing the deductions team and working closely with the Sales Department and the VP of Sales on these processes.

Key Responsibilities include:

Deductions Analysis

• Research deductions, promotional discounts, rebates, and other adjustments taken by customers, and ensure timely resolution.
• Identify invalid customer deductions and develop specific reimbursement plans with the Sales team to recoup any amounts owed.
• Review and analyze the details of customer deductions for accuracy to ensure each deduction is valid.
• Estimate trade and promotion accruals for month-end financial close.
• Identify deduction trends at the customer level by performing root cause analysis.
• Analyze all pre/post audits for dispute or approval of deductions.
• Identify and assist in implementing processes to continuously improve accuracy and efficiency of deductions.

Commissions Analysis

• Understand the strategies that drive our commissions plans to ensure the plans continue to meet business needs.
• Finalize monthly commission payments for review to submit for processing.
• Prepare internal reporting on monthly, quarterly, or as needed basis for the leadership and Sales teams.
• Verify commissions are calculating accurately based on commission plans on a monthly basis.
• Estimate commission accruals for month-end financial close.
• Track achievement of commissions and accelerated rates to ensure plans are driving the outcomes intended and provide reporting.
• Perform cost analysis or modeling of alternative commission plan structures when needed.
