This position will play a critical role in framing the data insights that allow sales leadership to make effective decisions. This role will mostly interact with the commercial organization, gathering information necessary to ensure our demand needs are met, and that our investments align with our pricing/trade guidelines for profitability, and the overall commercial strategy. This role will provide prescriptive analysis, manage projects, and think strategically while dealing with business/channel complexity and trade liability implications. Assist Sr Director of Finance and Commercial ELT in the development of strategic and annual operating plans while proactively identifying R&O and gaps around forecasts.
Job Description:
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Develop a deep understanding of Channel/Customer dynamics and proactively engage and partner with Commercial, Rev Growth and Trade team about financial implications of strategic decisions.
- Operate as the key finance lead and strategic business partner for Branded and Food Service team by providing management with accurate and timely financial information that facilitates the timely execution of commercial decisions and optimize their impact (ROI).
- Continually leverage planning and reporting processes, systems (ie SAC, S&OP, Blue Planner) and build/evolve robust reporting/reconciliation solutions, identify integration opportunities across systems, channels/customers.
- Responsible for managing a Financial Analyst while supporting a successful standup of the commercial finance team.
- Identify and execute ad hoc analytical projects that deepen commercial insights and drive value to the business. Provide general analytical and process support to sales team.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's Degree in business administration with an accounting or finance discipline.
- 10+ years of FP&A experience branded/ingredient business, with an emphasis on pricing/commercial support. Demonstrated business planning partnering, influence and commercial impact.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills are vital for success in this role. It requires the ability to build credibility, constructive relationships, and impact cross-functionally at all levels in the organization. It also requires the ability to synthesize, simplify and present complex information and concepts to non-financial audiences.
- Highly developed financial and business analytical skills are required; to understand and interpret business results and plans, and to provide insights to improve business results and grower returns. Strong knowledge of financial concepts around trade accounting and sales finance principles including retail margin/mark ups, Trade/Sales ratios, ROI, MBT, GM, Sales Elasticity
- Must be knowledgeable in standard business software (MS Office, ERPs) to at least an intermediate level, and with the aptitude to quickly become an advanced user. SAP/SAC experience preferred. Exceptional skills in Microsoft Office programs, specifically excel.
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES
- Master of Business Administration Degree.
- CPA or CMA.
