Sr. Field Services Technician
Job Description:
Position Summary
Technician is responsible for the setup, installation, maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting and operation of skid-mounted systems including all electrical and instrumentation systems and equipment inside the skid designed to inject drag-reducing agents into pipelines to enhance fluid flow efficiency and reduce energy consumption. Technician will lead a team of ~6-8 individuals at any given time, while assisting sales and commercial teams to manage customer expectations and relationships.
Essential Job Functions
- Manages internal resources necessary to support the business.
- Installation and Maintenance: Install, inspect, calibrate, repair, and maintain a variety of electrical, mechanical and instrumentation systems, including control panels, sensors, transmitters, motors, valves and other related equipment.
- Troubleshooting, Diagnose and resolution of all skid related issues by utilizing technical knowledge, testing equipment, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Provide technical support to customer to identify and resolve pain points, escalating as required.
- Preventive Maintenance: Perform routine preventive maintenance tasks to ensure the reliability and longevity equipment, such as cleaning, testing, lubrication, winterization, and component replacements.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards when working with electrical systems. Implement lockout/tagout procedures and follow safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries. Demonstrates commitment and support to EH&S principles and values always championing safety.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities, including equipment manuals, service reports, and inventory of spare parts and technically sound and accurate job reports and customer recommendations.
- Calibration: Calibrate and fine-tune instrumentation equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability, often following established procedures and using specialized tools.
- Reading Blueprints and Schematics: Interpret electrical and instrumentation drawings, blueprints, and technical manuals to identify and resolve issues and perform installations accurately.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with other maintenance and engineering teams to ensure the seamless operation of the injection equipment and to execute projects as required.
- Upkeep of Tools and Equipment: Ensure that all tools and equipment are in good working condition and request replacements or repairs as necessary.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to respond to emergencies and ensure equipment uptime. Up to 80% of time dedicated to travel monthly.
- Emergency Response: Be available for emergency repairs and troubleshooting during outages or system failures.
- Provides routine service support to Sales Account Representatives, and Research and development departments as required.
- Performs other duties assigned by management that fall within the generally expected scope of this position.
Experience Requirement
Proven experience as an E&I Technician in an industrial or manufacturing environment with a strong knowledge of electrical systems, instrumentation, and control systems and familiarity with relevant codes, regulations and safety procedures. Ability to use various testing and diagnostic equipment, such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and calibration devices Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical and instrumentation schematics. Proven mechanical aptitude and ability to problem solve, troubleshoot and mentor colleagues or customers to troubleshoot. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to lead a team onsite or in the field Attention to detail and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision or instruction. Self-starter, ability to identify tasks and give direction to team or peers.
- Must have a valid Driver's License and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record
- Must be able to lift/carry 55 pounds
- Must be able to read, write and speak English
- Practical computer application literacy (including Microsoft Office Suite, and ability to learn internal business systems) preferred
Education Requirement
- HS Diploma
- Associate degree or Trade School Certification
