The Sr. Engineer is responsible for supporting and administering Wendy's restaurant data and voice networks. Primary duties will include maintenance of the restaurants’ data and voice networks, hardware and software, troubleshooting escalated connectivity issues, vendor and partner coordination, and facilitating telecommunications services operations. The Engineer will work closely with company service providers, third party vendors, and contractors to identify, escalate, and resolve potential issues and problems. This position requires both technical and process management abilities.
Provides third level support for Restaurant Network, security, and voice services.
Serves as a consultant to various teams when questions arise on the best use of the various communication technologies available. Research and evaluate new hardware and technology. Leadership focused with technical decision making. Ownership and administration of Restaurant Network components.
Assists in the development of processes and training to better support network, security, and voice systems.
Supports vendor management & troubleshooting for Managed Service Providers, Help Desks, etc.
Coordinate on-site/restaurant technical dispatch requests to resolve physical connectivity issues
Calibrates with Managed Services Providers to create, audit, manage standard firewall configurations supporting restaurants.
Coordinate processes related to managing restaurant data/voice/alarm circuits and hardware. Follows standard processes for systems/service implementation and maintenance. Provides feedback, when necessary, on those processes to the individual(s) responsible for their design
Define new processes and approaches
Place connectivity orders for restaurants
Research new technologies and solutions for present and future business and technical requirements
Evaluate firewall configuration changes for restaurant use
Evaluate performance of Managed Service Providers, vendors, contractors

Education: Bachelors Degree
Relevant industry certifications (Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto)
3-5 years in Information Technology
2 or more years focused on firewalls, wireless netwoking, routing, and switching
Strong analytical skills with good verbal and written communication abilities.
Advanced network troubleshooting experience, understanding of network operation and TCP/IP
Experience with Fortinet, Palo Alto and Cisco platforms
Experience with VoIP, POTS, data cabling
Strong coordination skills to work with Managed Service Providers and vendors
Strong communication and relationship building skills.
