Job Description
As a Senior Electrical Power Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in project management and engineering support, directly influencing project success and overall profitability. Key responsibilities include:
Project Management:
- Project Execution: Lead project execution, including task identification, prioritization, and scheduling.
- Financial Oversight: Monitor project budget, track expenses, and report financial status.
- Problem Solving: Identify issues early and resolve conflicts promptly.
- Hardware Coordination: Manage hardware requisition.
- Support Junior Engineers: Mentor and assist junior engineers within the electrical engineering group.
- Project Meetings: Attend project status meetings.
- Daily Operations: Oversee daily project operations.
- Project Size: Handle projects ranging in size up to $3 million.
- Profitability: Ensure overall project profitability.
Engineering Responsibilities:
- Design Execution: Develop and execute engineering designs for assigned projects.
- Scope Development: Understand client design intentions and create detailed project scopes.
- Work Assignment: Assign tasks to meet project deadlines.
- Team Communication: Ensure clear communication of engineering responsibilities within the project team.
- Independence and Budget Management: Independently drive project work, manage changes, and report to the Business Unit Manager.
- Specifications Development: Create Standards of Construction and procurement specifications.
- Scheduling: Develop engineering schedules based on team and customer requirements.
- Progress Evaluation: Assess project progress and make necessary adjustments.
- Subcontractor and Purchasing Oversight: Manage engineering-related purchasing and subcontractor requirements.
- Cost Management: Propose change orders to achieve deliverables and profitability.
- Cash Flow Planning: Implement a cash flow plan for the project, including accounts receivable collections.
- Invoicing (if applicable): Handle project invoicing to the customer if no other project manager is assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- Education: A BA/BS degree in engineering or a related discipline (BSEE degree preferred). Equivalent experience may be substituted.
- Experience: 10+ years of directly related experience in building systems electrical engineering. Strong leadership and client relation skills are required.
