General Responsibilities
- Site evaluation of existing Power and Lighting systems
- Evaluation of luminaire photometry
- Lighting design layout
- Lighting calculations
- Produce Power and Lighting CDs using AutoCAD/BIM/Revit
- Ensure the Integral design checklist is being followed
- Perform cable voltage drop calculations
- Perform circuiting and control layout for lighting systems
- Prepare panel schedules and equipment schedules
- Provide construction administration services, including submittal reviews and responding to contractor RFIs.
- Coordinate electrical and Lighting requirements with other disciplines involved in the project
- Apply prescriptive requirements of electrical building services engineering codes
- Assisting clients and building owners with luminaire selection
- Providing guidance to junior designers
- Working with engineers to ensure lighting standards and overall lighting design quality are maintained
- Work with clients, building owners, and project managers to ensure lighting design works within budget and facilitates competitive bids
- Provide technical and design expertise to clients
Position Requirements
- A degree in Electrical Engineering
- Minimum five years design experience in low voltage and Lighting and control systems
- Prior exposure to Power and Lighting design concepts and the architectural design process
- Enthusiasm for being part of an integrated lighting + engineering team
- Proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD
- Understanding of computer-generated lighting calculations
- Prior experience in the MEP environment
- Understanding of construction document deliverables
