Munro and Associates is actively seeking a Senior Electrification Engineer with a minimum of 5 years of experience to join our renowned team. In this multifaceted role, you will not only be at the forefront of electrification but also have the unique opportunity to serve as a consultant, offering your deep expertise in various critical areas to our esteemed clients:
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
  1. Embedded Systems Software:
  • Mastery of coding for microcontrollers and FPGAs, vital in optimizing the functionality of electronic components in electrified systems.
  1. Instrumentation Engineering:
  • Proficiency in the design and implementation of precision instrumentation systems, essential for data acquisition and analysis that informs critical decision-making.
  1. Battery Systems:
  • A comprehensive grasp of battery systems, spanning battery management systems and diverse battery cell chemistries, enabling innovative solutions that power the future.
  1. Propulsion Systems:
  • In-depth knowledge of electric motors, inverters, combustion engines, and driveline and transmission systems in the context of electrified vehicles.
  1. Instructional Training:
  • The ability to impart knowledge and best practices, not just to your team but also to our valued clients, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth.
  1. Complex System Troubleshooting and Analysis:
  • Strong analytical skills to resolve intricate system issues and optimize performance in electrified automotive systems, providing invaluable consulting insights.
  1. Embedded Systems - Electronics Hardware Design:
  • Proficiency in schematic design, simulation, troubleshooting, and prototyping, enabling the creation of robust hardware solutions for our clients.
  1. Electrical Engineering:
  • Experience in designing high and low voltage systems, a critical consulting skill that ensures safe and efficient power distribution in electrified vehicles.
  1. Lean Manufacturing:
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, applied as a consultative tool, enabling process optimization and efficiency improvements in the electrification domain.
  1. 3-D CAD (SOLIDWORKS):
  • Competency in utilizing 3-D computer-aided design software, especially SOLIDWORKS, to produce precise models and designs, a pivotal skill in client consulting.
  1. 3-D Printing (Plastics):
  • Proficiency in 3-D printing techniques, particularly with plastics, for rapid prototyping and client-driven testing of electrification-related components.
  1. Mechanical Engineering:
  • A sound understanding of mechanical engineering principles and their application in electrified systems, an area where consulting expertise is highly sought.
  1. Finite Element Analysis (FEA):
  • The ability to leverage FEA tools for structural analysis and optimization, ensuring the structural integrity of electrified systems in a consulting context.
  1. Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD):
  • Proficiency in using CFD to optimize fluid flow and thermal management in electrified automotive systems, providing invaluable consulting guidance to clients.
  1. Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA):
  • A consultative approach to conducting FMEA to systematically assess and mitigate potential risks within electrification engineering projects, a crucial consulting skill.

Additional Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Access, Project, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Significant local and overnight travel is required to company or customer facilities.
  • Must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder to work on our government contracts.
