What You’ll Achieve
As a Senior Electrical Designer, you will be working on large campus electrical generation and distribution projects - industrial and institutional campuses (such as universities, airports, municipal/federal, gaming (i.e.: casinos); electrical infrastructure modernization design & planning, infrastructure required to meet growing electrical needs due to electrification of building design + electrical vehicle charging infrastructure; microgrids to support reliability and resiliency of critical facilities including traditional generation, solar PV, and battery storage systems; substation design.
The Power Group provides large scale utility and energy engineering services with our team of highly trained and experience engineers who are focused on thermal and electrical utilities. We have designed more than 500 central energy plants and many miles of distribution systems.
You will:
- Lead various electrical project designs including electrical one-lines, schematics, layouts, power systems, lighting systems, grounding, protection and controls, site and facility design.
- Power generation or heavy industrial projects including medium voltage and low voltage electrical distribution systems including switchgear, switchboards, motor control centers, panelboards, generators, and transformers.
- Work with project managers, engineers, and designers to review/refine project designs and documents.
- Train, mentor, develop team of drafting, detailing and design staff members.
- Review electrical design drawings as part of QA/QC process.
- Collaborate with vendors and contractors.

Essential Requirements
- 10+ years electrical design background
- Must have the ability to create and modify technical drawings and schematics using AutoCAD.
- Knowledge of BIM/Revit is a plus.
- Ability to interpret one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams and DC elementary diagrams.
- Expert in design, layout of electrical systems including equipment, cable trays, conduits.
- Bachelor’s or associate degree in related field

Positions in NYC or Long Beach, CA may expect a salary range anywhere between $90,000 and $110,000 for a Senior Designer position depending on years of experience and education. Please reach out to us to discuss total rewards and compensation package.
