The Sr. Distribution Center Business Systems Analyst combines warehouse management process expertise and technology knowledge of warehouse management systems to facilitate the translation of business needs into system solutions. The DC BSA is responsible for overall Warehouse Management System (WMS) support to the operations team to ensure that the WMS and subsystems deliver the performance and functionality necessary for the DC operations team.
Responsibilities:
- Site expert on WMS logic and functionality
- Monitor performance of the WMS (Warehouse Management System), proactively look at areas for improvement and lead all issue resolution.
- Act as first line of support for issue resolution.
- Troubleshoot day to day issues (application & hardware), identify root causes, escalate as necessary. Ensures issues are being identified, addressed, and resolved in a timely manner.
- Support DC Operations to identify process changes, support business objectives and drive efficiency.
- Investigate and recommend new technologies and information systems appropriate to the site.
- Ensure operational system integrity, including setup and control processes.
- Support solution testing efforts by developing test plans, coordinating test execution, and reviewing test results.
- Create and deliver user documentation to ensure proper use of changed and newly implemented solutions.
- Make WMS configuration changes to support business processes.
- Communicate ideas, objectives, approach, options, and to stakeholders.
- Maintain, enhance, and expand knowledge to facilitate systems proficiency.
- Possess and understand the technologies, solutions, and development options available for the solution.
- Interface with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve systems issues and process improvement initiatives.
- Perform periodic quality audits on project to ensure completeness of design.
- Participate in and/or lead continuous improvement projects.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, MIS, Supply Chain, Logistics Management and/or equivalent work experience.
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
- Effective communicator and ability to manage through influence.
- Experience utilizing reporting tools.
- Ability to create routine reports and system documentation.
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of end-to-end supply chain functional processes with strong business acumen in Distribution and Warehouse Management systems.
- Supply Chain systems (WMS, LMS & TMS) experience a plus. HighJump / Koerber preferred.
- Familiarity with Material Handling equipment and technologies (WCS, WES, CCS, AMRs, and AGVs). 6 River Systems and Fetch Robotics preferred.
- Knowledge of end-to-end systems development life cycle.
- Resourceful and proactive in gathering information and sharing ideas.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and collaboration skills to effectively connect with both business and technical IT teams.
- Skilled in use of Microsoft suites of Office products, specifically MS Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visio, and Project; Expert level preferred.
- System / process implementation experience preferred.
- Proficiency with databases and SQL
- Experience working with RF equipment, printers and voice picking devices.
- Travel 25% of the time in support of leading change across the warehouse network.
