Job Description
Join Takeda as a Sr. Director of Market Access and Channel Strategy, US Rare Disease in our Cambridge, MA office. In this role, you will develop and oversee sustainable US market access and channel strategies that will allow patients to gain access to Takeda's Rare Disease BU's existing and future products. You will be responsible for value story development, payer/PBM contracting strategy, pricing, specialty pharmacy and distribution plans, reimbursement and payer/channel marketing resources for the Rare Disease BU's in-line and pipeline products. You will also lead, motivate and coach your team members with the goal of developing the next generation of Takeda leaders.
How you will contribute:
- You and your team will lead the development of pricing, payer/PBM, channel and reimbursement strategies for Takeda's Rare Disease BU's existing and future products
- You will ensure close collaboration with other Managed Markets and Patient Services colleagues along with the Brand team, medical, Health Economics, Finance, Analytics and Sales teams to capture relevant payer and channel insights, identify data gaps, develop compelling value propositions and ensure market access field-based teams are equipped with the right tools.
- You will understand the reimbursement landscape and incorporate it into market access strategy
- You will collaborate with Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) in the development of payer evidence needs and ensure it is integrated into the Medical/HEOR evidence plan
- You will ensure brand plans incorporate the needs of patients, payers, channel and healthcare providers
- You will align the organization on metrics to assess impact of key market access events, strategies and tactics
- You will contribute to annual brand planning, forecasting and budgeting processes to represent payer and channel customer segments
- You will work with New Product Planning and Business Development functions to inform market access inputs and strategies for early-stage / targeted assets
- You will identify, as appropriate, payer/ system specific opportunities for innovative arrangements based on brand strategies in collaboration with Strategic Partnerships
- You will develop deep access capabilities across your team and business unit
- You will oversee all payer and channel market research for the business unit
- You will have strong leadership, business acumen, and the ability to manage multiple priorities, processes, timelines, people, and expectations of multiple stakeholder groups.
- You will inspire and lead innovation and synergies across teams to maximize patient outcomes and team effectiveness
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field required.
- Experience in biopharma market access (across payer, PBM, IDN, GPO, Specialty Pharmacy, etc) preferred.
- Experience with biologics and specialty products preferred.
- Launch experience preferred.
- Proven success in leading market access launch readiness planning and implementation preferred.
- Strong understanding of US payer market dynamics and how managed care organizations make decisions across commercial and public channels preferred
- Experience with brand and financial planning processes.
- Financial acumen including Gross-to-Net, resource allocation, budget management and reporting, strategic sourcing and P&L evaluation.
- Strong analytical capabilities to ensure robust inputs to decision-making
- Travel Requirement:10%
