About the Role
As the Global Head of Benefits, you will serve as a key leader of the Global Benefits team and interact regularly with the People team and business leaders. The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic Benefits professional with a knack for getting things done. We'll need you to have both strategic and hands-on experience, ideally in a mix of entrepreneurial and large-scale environments. This position is a great opportunity to provide vision and direction around strategic Benefits program delivery.
The ideal candidate thrives in a very fast-paced, constantly changing environment. Our Benefits team is currently based out of our San Francisco Global Headquarters. However, this would be overseeing a large team globally distributed across our regional offices.
What You'll Do
- Lead Uber's Global Benefits function (US and international) to effectively design, implement and manage the benefits strategy, philosophy, programs, policies, and initiatives
- Ensure that the Global Benefits team's culture is aligned with Uber's Values
- Create an exceptional employee experience by championing unique benefit offerings and perks and always operate with a global mindset
- Oversee global benchmarking strategies, multinational pooling arrangements and international broker oversight
- Keep current on market trends, business challenges, and priorities by gathering competitive market data and networking with industry peers
- Hire, develop, coach, mentor, and manage a team of Benefits professionals globally
- Work with regional counterparts to increase employee understanding of benefit programs by communicating programs clearly and concisely; translating complex data and/or benefits information into easily understood terms
- Manage annual program budgets
- Partner with the VP Total Rewards and Business Leaders to assess, develop and design new and existing benefit programs
- Build collaborative relationships and provide consultative advice to managers and HR business partners on total rewards strategy (e.g., promotions/transfers, job offers, relocations) and policy and guideline interpretation
- Lead the development of the benefits and wellbeing strategy and direct the design, implementation, communication and risk and cost management efforts employees globally
- Develop training programs to educate all employees about the company's benefits programs
- Communicate effectively across the organization and develop strategic partnerships with Executive Leadership, Legal and Finance teams
- Manage a team of 17 members globally
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent, MBA or advanced certification (CEBS, CBP or SPHR)
- Preferred 15+ years of experience in benefit plan strategy, design and administration with proven experience designing and implementing benefit programs globally
- Extensive experience managing a global organization at scale ( at least 15,000 employees)
- Experience covering India and Brazil
Preferred Qualifications
- Leadership skills balanced with a willingness to play a 'hands-on' role on key projects
- Strong written, verbal and presentation skills to effectively communicate total rewards strategies at all levels, from administrative to the C-Suite
- Ability to think globally, strategically and objectively to effectively translate data into actionable insights, strategies and financial plans
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, growing environment
About the Team
Our Global Benefits and Compensation team builds and drives employee rewards programs globally. We work closely with individual business and corporate stakeholders to implement meaningful programs and find the right solutions to ensure that employees feel supported, valued and included.
For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$270,000 per year - USD$300,000 per year.
For Seattle, WA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$270,000 per year - USD$300,000 per year.
For all US locations, you will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
