SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:

As a Senior Data Warehouse Developer within our payer company, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust Data Warehouse solutions, focusing on Medicare-related data, medical and pharmacy claims, and provider data management. The ideal candidate will possess extensive healthcare domain knowledge, exceptional SQL skills, and experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF) as a strong advantage. The role will offer an opportunity to transition from SQL Data Warehouse to the Microsoft Azure Synapse data platform. This position directly reports to the VP of Data Management.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable Data Warehouse solutions specialized in Medicare claims, and provider data management.
• Collaborate closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications for Data Warehouse models.
• Develop and optimize ETL processes using strong SQL skills to extract, transform, and load Medicare-related data from diverse sources into the Data Warehouse.
• Ensure data quality and integrity through the implementation of data governance strategies, validation checks, and error-handling procedures.
• Leverage expertise in Azure Data Factory (ADF) or similar ETL tools to enhance data extraction, transformation, and loading capabilities (experience with Azure ADF is a plus).
• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to address business needs, providing technical expertise and solutions for data-related challenges.
• Stay informed about evolving healthcare regulations, compliance standards, and industry trends related to Medicare, claims processing, and provider data management.
• Mentor and guide junior team members including offshore team members, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous learning.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in data warehousing within the payer domain, with a focus on Medicare data, medical and pharmacy claims, and provider data management.
• Extensive understanding of healthcare data structures, coding systems (e.g., ICD, CPT, HCPCS), and familiarity with regulatory compliance (e.g., HIPAA).
• Strong proficiency in SQL with demonstrated experience in writing complex queries and optimizing database performance.
• Experience with cloud-based ETL tools, preferably Azure Data Factory (ADF), or similar technologies will be a strong advantage.
• Knowledge of data modeling concepts (e.g., dimensional modeling, star schema) and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is beneficial.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within cross-functional teams and with stakeholders.
