Responsibilities:
- Manage auto bodily injury and homeowner general liability claims involving high net worth personal lines.
- Analyze coverage and manage claims exposures.
- Effectively interact with insureds, brokers, insured’s personal and/or legal representatives.
- Responsible for investigating and determining liability, evaluating damages, investigate subrogation opportunities and assist our clients as their individual and unique needs dictate.
- Evaluate exposure and establish reserves, report internally and externally as required and negotiate settlements.
- Effectively manage litigated claims.
- Participate in underwriting decision making, including renewal risk assessment and communication with program agent.
- Work with other areas of the company including underwriting, finance and accounting, actuarial, sales and marketing, risk management, operations, and technology on projects as requested.
- Prepare claim summaries and other reports as necessary for management.
- Present severity claims to senior management in large loss meetings.
- Meet with existing or prospective clients and brokers.
- Attend relevant industry conferences/meetings.
- Comply with internal and external reporting.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as business, insurance, or law.
- Multi-state licensing required.
- Group excess experience required.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in commercial or personal lines casualty claims management, high-net-worth, complex claims preferred.
- Strong knowledge of casualty insurance coverage, liability, and damages.
- Excellent negotiation, mediation, and arbitration skills.
- Ability to manage multiple complex claims and litigation matters simultaneously.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and claims management software.
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree preferred.
