Job Summary:

 

Mercury Systems Mixed Signal Business Unit in Huntsville, AL, is seeking a Sr, CAD PCB Design Engineer to join their team. 

The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating detailed PCB designs and release of complete PCB technical data/documentation packages for production. This position will require advanced multilayer PCB design and layout with Cadence Allegro (or other design packages as required), utilizing Constraint Manager to ensure designs meet performance requirements.

The selected candidate will possess the ability to lead the checking process and the creation of service packages containing BOM, schematics, and PCB assembly documentation. This will also entail maintaining the revision-controlled documentation and ensuring the team is using the most up-to date features and capabilities in Allegro.

 

Required Qualification:

  • Bachelor's degree with at least 5+ years’ related experience, or an Associate's degree with at least 7+ years’ related experience, or equivalent combination of training and relevant experience.
  • Multilayer PCB design and layout
  • Thorough knowledge of PCB Design, fabrication and tools processes, including determination of PCB stack-up and fabrication notes.
  • Fundamental understanding of electronic circuits, components, and packages is required.
  • Strong verbal communication skills to incorporate and provide feedback on designs and engage with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience with creating new component footprints and support the maintenance of global parts library.
  • Experience implementing EOC’s (Engineering Change Order)
  • Familiarity of BOM (Bill of Materials)
  • Experience using Allegro or similar CAD tool for laying out Circuit Boards. 

 

Preferred Qualification:

  • Familiarity with all aspects of hardware design, including experience with Schematic Capture.
  • Knowledge of RF and high frequency signals is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience designing complex digital, analog, and mixed-signal PCBs.
  • Experience working with PCB Vendors and Contract Manufacturers throughout fabrication and assembly of PCB designs.
  • Familiar with electronic part datasheets
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings
  • Familiar with creating schematic symbols and PCB footprints
