ABOUT THE ROLE
Our team develops new and modifies existing processes,defines process equipment requirements and specifications, and reviewstechniques and methods applied in the manufacture, fabrication, and evaluationof Ring Laser Gyroscope and MEMS based Inertial Sensors and IMUs.
The Senior Automation Engineer isan experienced expert that will influence the planning and designing of manufacturingengineering processes, by bringing automation skillset to anexisting team of product and process engineers. This skillset may include automation hardware experienceor IIOT types of software and manufacturing digitization.
You will determine technologies needed by the team toachieve manufacturing goals according to product specification, forimproving existing and introducing new processes/product technologies. You will maximize efficiency by analyzing the layout ofequipment, workflow, assembly methods, and work force utilization. Assistin the development, integration, and own productionimplementation of automation equipment(i.e. robotics or digitization). Supportdaily production activities and drive producibility improvementprojects in a challenging environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Support existing solutions and design / implement innovative solutions for industrial operations that may include: Industrial PC's (hardware, operating systems, peripherals, PLC's, Motion Control, Machine Vision - continuous inspection / defect inspection, Instrumentation - Pressure, Flow, Temperature, Level, Weight, Speed
Provide test and manufacturing support for RLG and MEMS based inertial measurement units (IMUs). Investigate and resolve technical issues, facilitate issue identification and analysis.
Support knowledge for test equipment and preventative maintenance plans to maintain factory capacity and efficient product flow.
Utilize CAMP, Lean, and Six-Sigma methodologies to govern engineering standard work practices.
Develop improvements in product design and in the manufacturing and assembly processes for cost and cycle time reductions.

YOU MUST HAVE
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics.
3+ years' experience
Basic experience or understanding of Robotic Programming (FANUC, Roboguide, etc.), PLC Programming (Studio 5000), CNC Programming (CAM, etc.)

Manufacturing environment experience and best practices such as: RCCA / Lean / Six Sigma
Technical proficiency in the use of Automation hardware such as Robotics Programming (FANUC, Roboguide, etc.), PLC Programming (Studio 5000), CNC Programming (CAM, etc.),
And/Or
Experience with manufacturing software support such as C#, SQL, Network Architecture, Python or R, Oracle or SQL Server, Web Development (ASP.NET), SAP, and OPC Standards, Knowledge of software configuration management and change management practices.
Quickly and accurately identifying subtle interrelationships and patterns among a variety of problems and issues (process and data correlation of cause/effect across value stream).
Hands on work ethic. Initiative and ownership of responsibilities and actions.
Ability to partner and collaborate well with team members.
