Sr. Accountant Revenue

\nThe Senior Revenue Accountant is responsible for preparing consolidated financial statements and reports including management reports with a primary focus in revenue recognition and reporting. The incumbent will review and verify the accuracy of journal entries and accounting classifications.

Major Responsibilities:
\n
Month-End Close
\n\nPrepares and/or supports the preparation of monthly journal entries, consolidating entries and month-end analyses in the area of revenue recognition.\nResponsible for various exhibits and commentary required for reports issued to management, outside Directors, 3rd Parties, and government agencies.\nPrepares and reviews sales transactions, analyses and various account balances and maintains files of supporting documentation.\nReviews sales legal agreements to support proper execution revenue recognition.\n\n

Projects/Ad-Hoc Tasks
\n\nPrepares ad-hoc financial information requests and analysis. Exhibits ownership on such analyses and works to identify trends and variances for unusual items in a fast moving Sales environment.\nAssists with special projects, year-end activities (such as audit inquiries), and related duties.\nExhibits strong management and prioritization to focus on larger, more urgent company initiatives that lean on Revenue Accounting.\n\n

Collaboration/Leadership
\n\nEvaluates and recommends improvements to accounting/operational procedures and systems and assesses cross-departmental impacts as well.\nWorks with departments within the organization, promoting strong relationships between department members such as Supply Chain, Sales, Market Research, Legal, IT and the rest of the Finance Organization.\nFacilitates discussions on standard and complex subject matter as it relates to revenue recognition. Collaborates cross-departmentally to understand the financial implications of different transactions.\nProvides guidance to other accounting staff and operational team members as needed.\n\n

Incumbent Attributes:
\n\nEducation: BS in Accounting\nYears of experience: 3-5 years of accounting experience, CPA preferred\nOther unique job relevant attributes:Ability to understand and follow detailed instructions.\nUnderstands and complies with established departmental processes and procedures designed to support internal controls efforts. Identifies and brings to the attention of department management internal controls deficiencies.\n\n
