Our client seeks a skilled and detail-oriented Accounts Senior Accountant to join their finance team and assist in managing our accounts receivable processes and financial reporting. Reporting directly to the Controller, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the financial records. You will be expected to have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and relevant experience in accounts receivable, general ledger maintenance, month-end close procedures, and bank reconciliations. Proficiency in QuickBooks and familiarity with automated accounts payable systems are essential for your success in this role.
To thrive, you should have:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance Or Accounting.
- CPA certification required.
- Public company experience required.
- 5+ years of general ledger accounting experience.
- Comprehensive understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Proficient in all Microsoft applications, with superuser Excel skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate across teams.
- Strong work ethic, integrity, and commitment to excellence.
Inventory Management
- Work closely with the warehouse and supply chain to monitor inventory costing, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Verify and reconcile purchase orders, packing slips, and invoices to ensure accuracy.
- Generate and distribute customer invoices and statements accurately and on a timely basis.
- Monitor accounts receivable balances and follow up on overdue payments.
- Apply cash receipts and reconcile customer accounts to ensure accurate recording of transactions.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies or disputes with customers regarding outstanding invoices.
- Prepare journal entries for various accounts and ensure accurate posting to the general ledger.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts to subsidiary records, investigating and resolving any discrepancies.
- Coordinate with 3rd party tax compliance software (Avalara) for e-commerce sales tax filing.
- Assist in the month-end closing process by preparing supporting schedules and reconciliations.
- Contribute to financial statement preparation and analysis as required.
- Reconcile Inter-company accounts between different entities.
- Perform other accounting duties as assigned.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations, ensuring that all transactions are accurately recorded.
- Perform monthly credit card reconciliations, ensuring that all transactions are accurately recorded.
- Identify and investigate any discrepancies or unusual items, taking appropriate actions to resolve them.
- Prepare and maintain related documentation for audit purposes.
