LOCATION: Boxborough, MA
ONSITE: This role requires the student to work from the Boxborough, MA office throughout the duration of the Co-op/Intern term.
PROGRAM TERM:
- Spring: Start Date January 22, 2024 - May 3, 2024
- Summer: Start Date May 22, 2024 - August 9, 2024
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
- As part of AMD's Virtual Bring-Up (VBU) central methodology team you will work across AMD's product portfolio to develop and enable methodology and tools to tackle key design cycle challenges for the company by leveraging acceleration, hardware emulation or prototyping technologies.
- Role may involve one or many of the below categories:
- Emulation infrastructure development through C++ testbench architecture and modeling, Verilog coding, Python or other scripting languages
- Data collection, manipulation, and analysis: Developing and extending processes and tooling to promote data-driven design and decision-making
- Collaboration on VBU core Python library
- Automated regression environment development
- Development of advanced stimulus methodologies
- Tool development to drive enhanced efficiency for AMD designs through the emulation / prototyping process
- Using code review software to ensure high quality code is produced.
- By the end of the internship/co-op you will have a better understanding of:
- Emulation/Prototyping
- ASIC design cycle
- Real-world experience with software design cycle working in collaboration with other engineers.
- Development and product release of software.
- Hardware management
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with scripting languages (Python, Tcl, Perl, shell scripting, makefiles)
- HW/SW systems knowledge or interest
- Linux/Unix environment familiarity
- Version control experience (git, SVN, Perforce, etc)
WHAT WOULD SET YOU APART:
- Strong problem-solving skills and methodical work practices
- Good understanding of computer and systems architecture
- Experience with HDLs and/or FPGAs
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
- 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year student enrolled in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent.
- Early year graduate candidate of in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science (or similar) program considered.
- Good communication skills
- A penchant for problem solving
- Computer Hardware backgrounds / knowledge preferred. Computer Science, Mathematics, or similar backgrounds considered.
