CAPS Deaf and Hard of Hearing Program in Newton is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Speech and Language Therapist to join our dedicated team of professionals. The SLP will provide flexible services to deaf and Hard of Hearing students in the middle school and high school settings. The CCC-SLP will provide evaluation, diagnostic and therapeutic services and consultation. Additionally, the SLP will evaluate students and develop and oversee the implementation of IEP goals and objectives.
The ideal candidate is bilingual-bimodal, demonstrating the ability to provide services in English and American Sign Language (ASL).

About the role:
Provide quality speech/language therapy services, including assessment, intervention, program planning and implementation, discharge planning, and communication. Service provision includes both direct and consultative approaches.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluation and screenings using both informal and standardized testing in Speech/Language.
- Generate IEP goals to reflect needs determined through evaluation.
- Attend scheduled meetings.
- Provide direct services as indicated on IEP
- Provide indirect consultative services with teachers and parents as indicated on IEP.
- Provide in-service workshops and professional development as requested.
- Supervise SLPA's and/or Graduate students.
- Travel between schools and programs as deemed necessary.
- Monthly Medicaid submittal on eligible students.
- Maintain professional boundaries and ensure student/staff confidentiality as appropriate within the educational team
- Contribute to professional growth and collaboration by staying informed on current literature/resources in the field and actively participating in staff meetings and professional development opportunities
Candidate requirements:
- Master's Degree with certification of Clinical Competence from ASHA
- Educator licensure in Speech/Language Massachusetts
Physical Requirements:
- Able to navigate all areas of the school quickly including indoor and outdoor areas.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
