Specimen Accessioner

North West Labs is seeking a dedicated and motivated individual to join their Specimen Processing and Accessioning team at their Southfield, MI laboratory. The Specimen Accessioner will be responsible for performing clinical specimen accessioning, sample sorting and data entry in a fast-paced, high-throughput environment according to established standard operating procedures.

HOURS: Monday - Friday from 4pm - 12am

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing

• Unpack and route specimens to their respective staging areas

• Accurately identify and label specimens

• Pack and ship specimens to proper testing facilities

• Meet department activity and production goals

• Properly prepare and store excess specimen samples

• Data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• No previous experience required.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Personal computer skills, strong typing ability, and knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Organized with the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
