Schedule: Monday- Friday 9:30am-630pm MST OR EST
Summary
Under the direction of the Pharmacy Supervisor, facilitates all aspects of front-end prescription processing including prescription intake, order setup, and RX setup. Will assist with claims adjudication, prior authorization management and other responsibilities as necessary
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Primary function is to perform RX Setup/RX Entry functions
- Assists the intake process primarily through management of the inbound fax queue and the ePrescription manager.
- Facilitates proper establishment of the patient profile including demographics, insurance, clinical elements, diagnosis and more.
- Assists with the adjudication of new and refill prescriptions by managing the Claims to Adjudicate queues.
- Assists with resolutions involving rejected claims.
- Assist in managing the prior authorization process to include, but not limited to, initiating prior authorization requests, working with providers to correctly submit prior authorization requests, follow up on status of pending prior authorization requests and more.
- Assist in the renewal of prescriptions
- Assist in managing the processing time of new patient referrals and new prescription orders
- Perform routine, professional pharmacy functions.
- Respect and maintain confidentiality guidelines of HIPAA.
- Follow and aid in enforcement of all company policies and procedures.
- Responsible for other duties as assigned
- Must have Certified and Registered Pharmacy Technician, in good standing required.- For Colorado Candidates
- Must have Registered with the State of Florida (Florida techs only) in good standing required, certification preferred- For Florida Candidates
- One year minimum of pharmacy experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Ability to type 25 words per minute.
- Ability to enter 30 prescriptions per hour.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to handle multiple activities or interruptions at once.
- Ability to communicate effectively, patiently and courteously.
- Focused team player, who can work in conjunction with pharmacists, other departments, customers, and management.
- Work independently with little supervision and meet daily deadlines.
- Ability to perform repetitious work accurately.
Work Environment / Physical Demands
This position is in a typical office environment which requires prolonged sitting and standing in front of a computer. In addition, this position requires hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office equipment, including the operation of standard computer and phone equipment. May have occasional high stress when dealing with customers/clients and employees. This position may be required to work long hours.
