Description
The dual-accredited Publix Specialty Pharmacy provides clinical support and expertise to Publix Specialty Pharmacy Patients. Medications dispensed from this pharmacy include, but not limited to cancer, HIV, hepatitis C, multiple sclerosis, and auto-immune system disorders.
The Specialty Pharmacy Registered Nurse (RN) role requires a high level of professional interaction with patient and providers to ensure care and services needed are effectively communicated. This includes conducting therapy calls to counsel patients, comprehensive reviews of medications patients are taking to determine potential drug interactions and conducting follow up calls to patients to address importance of adherence to specialty medications and assess therapeutic outcomes. In addition, you will communicate and provide clinical medication information and recommendations to prescribers via telephone, facsimile and email as needed.
Description:
- Conduct new to therapy calls to Publix Specialty Pharmacy patients on their specialty medication by providing enhanced clinical support and expertise
- Conduct follow-up calls to and from Publix Specialty Pharmacy patients by serving as the medication expert
- Act as the point of contact/liaison between Specialty Pharmacy patients and healthcare providers
- Support clinical pharmacists in all functions
Required Qualifications
- Must be a Registered Nurse
- One to two years’ experience as a Registered Nurse in an inpatient or outpatient care setting
- Valid Registered Nurse license in the state he/she is working or the willingness and ability to quickly obtain one
- Advanced medication and other clinical knowledge
- Knowledge of nursing industry and applicable laws
- Basic computer skills
- Willingness to work a variable schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), or other advanced degrees
- Three or more years’ experience as a Registered Nurse, with additional experience in specialty medication and/or disease states
- Additional certifications, such as oncology (OCN)
- Knowledge of Publix Pharmacy operations in retail stores

Year End Bonus
To reward associates for their contributions to the company for the calendar year, Publix provides a Holiday Bonus in November. In the first year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to 15 hours of pay, and in the second year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to one week’s pay if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check. In subsequent years, the bonus is equal to two weeks’ pay.
