The role of a Specialty Clinical Coordinator is to build working relationships, solve problems and assist the patients, healthcare teams, and resource providers in navigating the complex healthcare processes of multiple entities. Actively building strength among the healthcare teams, as part of the patient navigator service, is important to ensure that patients receive timely treatment and an exceptional care experience. We have two openings for this role.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
· Work with physicians and clinic personnel to provide a communication and problem-solving bridge between Torrance Memorial and Cedars Sinai Healthcare Systems
· Secure medical practice operational requirements and workflows (i.e. medical staff privileges, payer credentialing, build / manage physician schedules, coordinate call schedules, insurance verification, etc)
· Facilitate front and back-office needs of visiting specialists
· Assist in the coordination of medical records documentation, referrals / authorizations, and billing workflows across the enterprise
· Will work across the health system and learn to navigate both Cerner and Epic
· Ability to work independently and perform each clerical task within the practice
· Float to other locations to support a Cedars Sinai based physician as needed
· Management of clinical data and reports
Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required:
· High school diploma or GED required
· Medical Assistant Diploma or Certificate required
· 2 years’ experience in clinic operations
· Experience and knowledge of specialty care services
· Understanding of healthcare facilities and processes
· Strong problem-solving skills
· Computer literacy
Knowledge, Skills & Experience Preferred:
· Bachelor’s degree in healthcare-related field
