Starting Salary Range is $35,651 -$40,113. The initial salary offer is commensurate with education and related work experience.
A student services specialist provides retention and Student Support to the participants of TRIO SSS. The Student Services Specialist will provide assistance to a designated student caseload and provide support to the TRIO Program Advisor. This position will help students maximize their academic learning, make informed academic decisions based on life and career goals, and guide students toward successful completion of their chosen academic path. The Student Services Specialist fosters student understanding of college policies and provides Support Services such as academic coaching and planning that ensure academic success, retention, and persistence.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Provide one-on-one support, case management, and Support Services to a cohort of students in TRIO Student Support Services Program.Create and manage individual students’ success plans for each student, schedule regular meetings to track academic progress, and ensure access to Support Services.Work with students to develop effective study habits, organization, and time management skills.Engages in creative solutions to student retention issues and take initiatives with team members to implement solutions. Compiles data on student services, activities, and academic progress. Develops and maintains accurate, organized, and detailed student records to produce reports that inform retention tactics and strategies paying special attention to program objectives that lead to persistence and graduation.Additional Duties & Responsibilities
