This job is with the American Airlnes Credit Union. The role is responsible for the management of Real Estate Owned properties while at the same time reinforcing American Airlines Credit Union’s mission of member advocacy. This role will also evaluate and analyze data and prepare reports related to Payment Collection and Recovery departmental activities and performance.

What you'll do

  • Analyze, evaluate and report Payment Collection and Recovery department data
  • Prepare department budget and address variances
  • Handle Real Estate Owned (REO) properties
  • Issue appropriate collection/legal correspondence
  • Review Short Sale Requests
  • Establish Fair Market Value for properties in foreclosure and REO
  • Serve as a back-up for foreclosure tasks
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation of all accounts worked
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • The selected candidate will be responsible for ensuring the security and confidentiality of all account and related information which is part of their work and for ensuring that his/her work is in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations including, but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act.

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • High school diploma or GED


Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field or equivalent relevant industry experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in mortgage collection, including foreclosures and REO management
  • Proven experience pulling and critically analyzing data with great accuracy, as well as creating presentations to be shared at a departmental and/or Board of Directors level
  • Knowledge of FDCPA and the Texas Act


Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • Skilled in Microsoft Office software (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint) gained through either work experience with the software or education and hands-on use of the software
  • Ability to handle legal matters, such as suits for foreclosure, sequestration, writs and judgments
  • Possess well-developed decision-making skills and the ability to exercise good judgment, with a strong emphasis on reaching decisions that are in the best interest of AACU
  • Ability to interact professionally with all organizational levels
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
  • Skilled in effective time management skills and proficiency while handling multiple projects/tasks
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of organization, both verbally and written
  • Ability to type 35 WPM with 100% accuracy
  • Ability to maintain satisfactory performance and attendance
  • Must pass applicable American Airlines and Credit Union pre-hire compliance checks
