Donor Development Services (DDS) is an integral part of UJA-Federation of New York’s fundraising efforts, specifically focused on high-end donor engagement, customized relationship-building, cash collection, matching gifts, employee giving and more. The specialist is responsible for managing matching gifts, employee giving, drafting acknowledgement letters, and assisting with cash collection.
Major Responsibilities:
- Produce accurate, customized acknowledgement letters by consulting with fundraising staff and comprehensive review of database and donor files
- Manage and track matching gifts and employee giving
- Provide donors with appropriate information and guidelines to make the match process as effortless as possible
- Research and write obituary notices.
- Promote matching gift program throughout the fundraising operation, including in written materials and event programs
- Navigate and maintain a sophisticated donor database.
- Process matching gifts and employee gifts
- Create and provide weekly and monthly reports.
- Other projects as assigned.
Qualifications and Competencies:
- Bachelor’s Degree required and one plus years of related experience preferred.
- Detail-oriented, organized, enthusiastic and energetic.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Strong communication skills, especially writing.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Flexibility and ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to work at events and programs when required, which may be outside of normal business hours.
- Curiosity and sense of humor is a plus.
Salary Information:
The salary for this role is $50,000-$55,000 commensurate with experience and qualifications.
