Duties include developing themes and comprehensive plans for festivals, events and community programs; obtaining partnerships, sponsorships and solicitation of donations for citywide Special Events and programs; managing the overall planning, design concept and coordination of events; negotiating contract terms and conditions; managing and supervising staff, volunteers, and contracted vendors; developing and monitoring budget and overseeing supply and equipment procurement related to event production; reviewing rental applications for Levy Event Plaza, and if approved, assist renter with city processes; and preparing event marketing materials. A Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, with a major in Parks and Recreation, Public Relations or a closely related field and four years of related experience, including one year of supervisory experience, are required. Must have a good driving record and have, or be able to obtain, a Texas Class C driver’s license. A résumé must be submitted with application.

- Employees that successfully complete their 6-month orientation period will receive an additional one-time payment of $1000 provided there are no documented attendance or disciplinary issues.

documented attendance or disciplinary issues will receive an additional one-time payment of $1000. - The maximum amount of hiring incentive that an individual employee may receive is $3,000.
