The Royal Caribbean Group’s Royal Caribbean International brand has an exciting career opportunity for a full time Special Events Planner on the Creative Services Sales Team reporting to the Manager Special Events
This position will work on-site in Miami Florida
Position Summary:
In this position you would work in conjunction with the Special Events Manager to ideate plan and execute all assigned Royal Caribbean International Special Events and sales functions This can include but is not limited to inaugural events sales meetings shipyard trips Advisory Board Meetings internal and external recognition events Charity Fund Raising Functions and corporate and incentive meeting planning You would also coordinate with Senior Management shipboard personnel and land-based personnel as well as travel partners for all events and activities from creative stage to final execution
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the project management and execution of events for Royal Caribbean International Plan and develop programs agendas source venues and other event specifics manage budgets accurately and other services according to the event requirements ie accommodation transfers catering Audio Visual signage
- displays Oversee planning of accommodations transfers catering audio/visual signage displays and more Maintain records of all event aspects including financial details
- Accurate budget management is essential
- Exercise creativity and decisiveness when planning Special Events
- Maintain ongoing communication and updates to the client/event owner Negotiate contracts with hotels caterers convention centers

Qualifications Knowledge and Skills:
- Special Events experience 2 years minimum preferred
- Certified Event Planner certification and/or bachelor’s degree
- Excellent facilitation and presentation skills
- Microsoft Office skills- PowerPoint a must
- Strong verbal and written communication skills required
- Knowledge of adult learning principles
- Knowledge of computers and aptitude for learning new technologies
- Ability to travel (Domestically and Internationally) and work extended hours beyond regular business hours including weekends and holidays Demonstrated capability to recognize and address projects with a sense of urgency ability to meet deadlines
- and work with competing priorities Ability to work effectively and independently and manage multiple tasks at a time
- Requires top-level organizational skills Need to adapt easily to unique requests and remain flexible when coordinating and participating in innovative out-of-the box experiences
