The JM Family College Internship program is designed to create an opportunity for college students to have meaningful work experiences that tie to their programs of study. As part of this program, you will actively contribute to your team's success, learn about JM Family's companies and culture while obtaining new skills through learning opportunities, networking events and much more.
The ideal candidate will be available to work full time hours during the Summer Internship Program (June 3, 2024 - August 9, 2024).
The individual selected for this internship will be responsible to assist with planning and implementing events that support the SET Finance Marketing Department. This internship will provide the opportunity to work alongside a strong team of Event Planners and assist in managing all event logistics and assisting with marketing initiatives. The Event Marketing team is responsible for creating dynamic experiences for our customers and Associates for 3 core events per year. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal and customer service skills and the ability to prioritize their time.
Responsibilities:
- Working alongside Event Planners on creation and monitoring of timelines, research on activities, amenities, décor, and other event-related tasks.
- Collect and review files: Rooming lists, itineraries, and all other paperwork requirements.
- Copy writing event promotional emails
- Collaborating with planners to find new and creative ideas
- Specifically working with our special events team by supporting our planning for summer incentive trip initiatives.
- Working alongside the Events and Incentives team to create content for promotional materials for upcoming trips, as well as ongoing projects and daily tasks.
- Assisting the marketing team with projects when needed.
- Participation in "End of Internship Presentation."
Qualifications:
- This is a full-time, hybrid position
- Ideal candidate will be actively enrolled in a bachelor or graduate degree seeking program at an accredited college or university with a focus in marketing, events, or public relations (qualified candidates actively enrolled for a degree in a related field will also be considered) and must have completed at least one semester of classes
- Must be a minimum of 18 years old at the start of the program
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent - Relevant completed coursework including Marketing and/or Event Management, Hospitality, or similar required
- Strong attention to detail, solution-oriented problem solver, with a strong customer focus required
- Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite required
- Oriented, extremely motivated and a self-starter
- Willingness to learn, research and bring some great fresh ideas to the table
- Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team setting
