ALS New Mexico is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping people with ALS and their families in New Mexico. We provide comprehensive care and support, including equipment loans, home modifications, and financial assistance. We also fund research to find a cure for ALS.

Special Events Manager

Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico

Reports To: CEO & President

Job Status: Full-Time, Exempt Salary: $42,000 - $50,000 annual Dependent on experience

Your Opportunity: ALS New Mexico seeks a skilled Special Events and Development Coordinator to manage peer-to-peer fundraising events including, but not limited to, Hearts on Your Sleeve Fashion Show, Swing Fore A Cure ALS Golf Tournament, and the New Mexico ALS Walk. This hands-on position is ideal for someone who will bring creativity, energy, and encouragement to event fundraisers.

Position Summary: Special Events Manager position provides the opportunity to grow, enhance, and coordinate event-based fundraising initiatives.

Event Coordination and Fundraising

· Organize and coordinate all logistic needs for events, including but not limited to in-kind donations, permitting, rentals, awards, etc.

· Develop, track, and manage goals for each event based on attendance, fundraising, and awareness.

· Create and post all social media content and email campaigns.

· Work with CEO to develop a strategic plan for the implementation of all events and campaigns.

· Work to enhance the overall experience for participants in events – pre, day of, and post.

· Recruit and support past and potential event participants through regular face-to-face meetings.

· Provide hands-on support and coaching to event participants and assist them in developing and implementing their personal fundraising strategies including, but not limited to social media, email or letter writing campaigns, and third-party fundraisers.

· Collaborate with the Care Services team to engage people living with ALS in community and fundraising events.

· Help recruit and lead volunteers for events and in-office support.

· Manage data input of offline donations and registrations, along with electronic event files and records.

Requirements:

· Bachelor's degree and/or 1+ years of fundraising experience.

· Experience and comfort in an outward facing, interactive, position that requires candidates to be social with and encourage fundraisers throughout peer-to-peer fundraising.

· Confident and comfortable speaking with high-level donors and sponsors

· Proficient with MS Office Suite, and quick to learn new database and fundraising platforms.

· 1+ years’ experience with donor database systems

· Able to perform physical abilities.

· Able to use work some nights and weekends as needed and use own vehicle for work travel. Must travel, drive own vehicle, drive rental vehicles, and fly when needed for work purposes throughout all of New Mexico and out of state.
