Indiana University-Bloomington School of Education's Department of Curriculum & Instruction invites applications for a Visiting Clinical Assistant Professor in Special Education. The position is a 3 semester (Jan. 2024 - May 2025) temporary academic appointment. This faculty member will be expected to participate in appropriate service obligations, including departmental and school committees and teach a minimum of three courses (i.e., 9 credit hours) each semester during the academic year.
Applicants should have a broad knowledge of the field of Special Education and be committed to enhancing clinical practice within K-12 school contexts where diversity in background, gender, learning, language, and challenging behavior among students is common. The successful applicant will be expected to teach undergraduate and master's level courses and support the Special Education program. The program seeks a candidate with particular expertise in learning disabilities, especially related to reading challenges.
Responsibilities of this position include:
Teach undergraduate and master-level courses in Special Education
Supervise undergraduate and graduate students in field placement
Active participation with faculty in the School of Education and P-12 partners

Basic Qualifications
Required qualifications: 1) Minimum of a master's degree with 5 or more years of experience in a K-12 and/or higher education setting; 2) strong background in learning disabilities, especially those related to reading challenges and a science of reading focus; and 3) experience working in K-12 settings.

Additional Qualifications
