Indiana University seeks to appoint a Clinical Assistant Professor of Curriculumand Instruction: Science Education in the School of Education, Bloomington beginning Fall semester 2024. This is a search for a full-time 10-month position with an anticipated start date of August 1, 2024. The Science Education program seeks applicants with expertise in equitable and inclusive learning environments and an understanding of emergent pedagogical theories, practices, and areas of inquiry within the field of Science Education. The successful applicant will be expected to teach core courses for undergraduate and possible elective courses for graduate students, contribute to program coordination, and advise and mentor students across the various Science Education degree programs. Responsibilities for this position include:
Teaching six undergraduate and/or graduate courses in an academic year. Undergraduate Science Education courses will be in-person, but graduate-level courses may be taught online.
Mentor associate instructors (i.e., graduate students) teaching undergraduate science content courses in the Science Education program.
Contribute to the designing and coordination of new science content courses for undergraduate education majors. There is also the potential for collaborating on the design of integrated STEM courses.
Produce scholarship with a practitioner focus.
Establish and maintain collaborations with other Science or STEM-related programs to promote inter-disciplinary and community connections.
Contribute to the IU Bloomington School of Education, Department of Curriculum and Instruction, and Science Education program service activities at levels commensurate for a clinical position.

Basic Qualifications
Required qualifications include:
A PhD or EdD in Science Education, STEM education, or related field.
o If a candidate is ABD the degree must be awarded by July 30, 2024.
Experience with teaching Science or related STEM content in higher education.
Knowledge of and involvement with curricular and/or program development.
Engagement in the scholarship of teaching science.
