Marys will reimburse half the cost per course up to $500.00.Eleven paid holidays403(b) Retirement PlanBlue Cross Blue Shield of RI-Healthmate Coast to Coast (health/dental/vision)SMHFC pay 75% of the cost for health care for full-time staffNo referral needed with BCBSRI HealthmateHealth Reimbursement Arrangement (pre-loaded-$2000 individual/$4000 family which you can use toward your deductible)Low prescription co-paysLow co-pays for doctor visitsFlexible Spending Account (FSA)Free Life Insurance up to annual salaryAflac Insurance EligibleTuition ReimbursementLongevity Bonus for years of serviceEmployee Referral Program-$250.00 for referring a friend to SMHFC!Responsibilities and duties for SMHFC Special Education TeacherSpecial Education Teacher implements a curriculum aligned with the RI Common Core Standards using a variety of resources that provide differentiation and diversity (including but not limited to things such as Problem Based Learning, Social Emotional Learning and Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports.)Provide supervision and behavior management that reflects trauma informed practices.Assess and keep accurate records of student attendance, grades and progress that will assist in future placements and referrals.Prepare, present and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEP) based on the specific needs of the students on their caseload.Complete quarterly grade cards and progress notes to keep parents, districts and educational advocates informed of the childs progress as appropriate. High School is to be aligned with the sending district graduation requirements.Write a Discharge, Transition or Student Summary of Performance Report when a student is going to the next grade or transitioning to another school or program.Qualifications for Special Education Teacher: Bachelors degree in Education with RIDE Certification in Mild to Moderate Special EducationCandidates with any secondary core content certification (math, ELA, Science, History) interested in pursuing Special Education are strongly encouraged to apply.Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action EmployerBilingual candidates encouraged to apply
