We're hiring for: In the pursuit of our mission, we are hiring a Special Education Teacher for Eastern High School's Resource Room. This teacher will work to ensure students with Special Education needs in the building receive the services and resources that they need and deserve. They will be responsible for providing a variety of types of instruction to students, depending on the IEPs of the students on their caseload.
This role could serve in a push-in or pull-out capacity, depending on the student and school needs as well. You have a:Required:Bachelor's degreeValid Michigan teaching certificate with one of the following endorsements Special Education teacher of Emotionally Impaired (SE), Learning Disabled (SM), Cognitively Impaired (SA), or Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) (if you are interested in this role but don't have this, reach out to the contact person to learn more about how we might be able to help!)Commitment to Lansing School District's mission and visionRecommendedBackground of working with students with Special Education needsBasic understanding of the IEP process You will:Deliver specially designed instruction using research-based interventions/curriculum to caseload studentsAnalyze caseload assessment data via regular progress monitoring and maintain data for quarterly progress reports.Serve as a member of the MET for caseload students and schedule/conduct IEPs for caseload studentsCollaborate with classroom teachers, paraprofessionals, families, and the building principalSubmit all required reports, data, and documentation in a timely manner To apply: Complete the attached application, including submitting a resume, cover letter, transcripts, and certification documents.
