Form of workScion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Special Education Teacher (Grades 6-12) on behalf of our amazing client, a public charter school in Lexington, SC. This is an incredible Full-Time, Direct-Hire, and Onsite opportunity!
***The schedule for this role is Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM-3:30 PM.***
As the Special Education Teacher, you will be responsible for providing exceptional educational support to students in grades 6-12 with diverse learning needs.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and adapt daily curriculum techniques specific to students with different learning modalities.
- Adhere to curriculum standards and assist in the development of lesson plans for inclusion students.
- Liaison with parents, administrators, school psychologists, and other professionals to set up and plan Individualized Education Program and Evaluation meetings.
- Serve as an Individualized Education Program facilitator and collaborator between Special Education and general Education Teachers to write, revise, or update the Individualized Education Program and existing data reports.
- Provide report cards and progress reports for each student.
- Track student data to ensure the school-wide grading system is up to date and monitor Individualized Education Program goal progress.
- Attend professional development opportunities such as conferences and workshops to maintain and improve professional competence.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 1+ years of Special Education Teacher experience
- Bachelor's degree in Education
- South Carolina Specialist Education Teaching Certificate required
- Strong planning, execution, and problem-solving skills
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
