Special Education Paraprofessional

This is a full time position for the 2023-2024 school year. The Special Education Paraprofessional assists Special Education and General Education teachers in the delivery of educational and behavioral interventions for Special Education students; also assists the Special Education student in the general education classrooms with the goal of helping him/her to reach their educational goals. Due to the varied and individual needs of each student, Special Education Paraprofessional may provide a variety of support and assistance, and should be flexible adjusting to student needs (provide personal care assistance, implement behavior management strategies, provide one-to-one instruction and/or support, other duties as requested).

Requirements:

• High School diploma required. Additional post-secondary training relevant to secondary education preferred.
• Candidates must have a minimum of 60 college credits or have passed the Para Pro Test.
• Flexibility to work with different situations, one-to-one, small and large groups, multiple settings.
• Tactful and effective with teachers, as well as students with disabilities and their families.
• Acceptance of students’ disabilities and limitations.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: Commensurate with experience
