This position will perform operation-wide production, quality, maintenance and other support duties during the installation and start-up of the SPC Extrusion operation.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Operate and troubleshoot SPC Extrusion lines during start-up, normal operation and shut down.
- Monitor key equipment parameters and record data as applicable.
- Continually inspect key product specifications at designated frequencies to ensure 1st quality.
- Perform physical line walks at designated intervals to monitor and inspect for product quality, equipment reliability and general housekeeping.
- Assist with planning and conducting trial runs for product development and process improvement.
- Assist with troubleshooting quality, production and product issues and problems.
- Assist in developing, updating and maintaining equipment operating and maintenance guidelines and procedures.
- Adhere to and comply with all applicable safety and regulatory policies and requirements.
- Provide training for other employees.
- Operate a lift truck as needed.
- Perform all required and necessary housekeeping duties for the operation and department.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or production operation.
- Ability to read, write and comprehend instructions, diagrams and other pertinent information related to the process, equipment and operation.
- Proven ability to effectively perform duties with minimal direct supervision and oversight.
- Willingness to work in a team environment and cohesively with coworkers.
- Experience with process improvement, quality control and troubleshooting.
- Ability to work overtime and different shifts or schedules.
- Willingness to learn new processes and to perform a variety of duties and tasks based on the needs of the operation.
- Understanding that direction, oversight and support can and will come from different roles and individuals.
Physical & Other Requirements:
- Must be able to bend, squat and stoop regularly throughout the shift.
- Must be able to stand for 8 - 12 hours a day.
- Must be able to climb up and down stairs multiple times on a shift.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. multiple times on a shift.
- Must be lift truck certified.
- Must complete all applicable safety training and certifications.
