To serve as a liaison between multilingual families/students and school sites to help develop and sustain a trusting and supportive relationship that will benefit students, families, and the district. Oversight and training will be done with Educational Equity Coordinator and building principal. **Consistent and reliable attendance is required.

1. Develop relationships and work cooperatively with all staff on a team basis.
2. Provide assistance to new families and students as they enroll in school.
3. Collaborate with community resources to provide appropriate services for students and families.
4. Act as advocate for students and families to provide an equal learning opportunity; helps students to be successful in the learning environment.
5. Translate and communicate school documents.
6. Interpret during meetings and testing.
7. Facilitate communication between students, parents, and school staff to ensure student achievement.
8. Serve as a bridge between the schools and families and advocate for educational equity for all students and families.
9. Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to assist in access to core curriculum.
10. Work with building teams to assist in educational equity for all students.
11. Establish and develop strong community relationships to cultivate the possibilities to engage in and to provide our students and families with community resources.

Position Requirements:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); two-year degree preferred. Must be proficient in world language, preferably Spanish. Experience in interpreting and translating information, school experience is preferred; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
Language Skills:
Spanish in addition to English is preferred. A language skills assessment in both English and Spanish will be required to ensure quality skills in both English and Spanish reading, writing, speaking, and listening.
Schedule:
This position is full-time, 7 hours / day. This includes an unpaid 0.5 hour lunch (30 minutes). The daily start and end times are 7:30am to 2:30pm. This schedule may be adjusted to fit the needs of the candidate. This position follows the OMS school year calendar when students are in session.
Pay Rate:
B-2-3 Success Coach Tier I: $20.45/hour without relevant expeience. B-2-3 Success Coach Tier II: 24.64/hour with relevant experience. Hourly rate of pay is also contingent on 2023-24 Contract Negotiations.
