York Space Systems is seeking a talented and ambitious problem-solver that thrives in an active and collaborative production environment. The successful candidate will have the technical intuition to quickly make decisions on troubleshooting next-steps and the depth-of-understanding and experience to quickly identify root-cause of test anomalies. The Space Vehicle Electrical Engineering team is a group of highly skilled integration and test engineers dedicated to ensuring the electrical integrity of every Space Vehicle produced.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Participate in design and peer reviews as the EE subject matter expert.
- Review ICDs and component design implementation to ensure the bus and payload systems design is in line with the requirements for electrical[A1] components.
- Work with production test teams to quickly and thoroughly resolve production & test anomalies that occur during Space Vehicle assembly, integration, and test.
- Perform in-depth troubleshooting efforts into electrical subsystems of the Space Vehicle.
- Provide electrical-subsystem compatibility and signal-integrity guidance to ensure robust and reliable performance of the Space Vehicle at the system-level.
- Support Space Vehicle mission teams as the subject matter expert for all Space Vehicle bus electrical systems and electrical payload interfaces.
- Documentation of issue disposition and process/design improvements for more efficient vehicle AI&T.
- Experience using standard RF / electrical test equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, etc.
- Experience in electronic circuit card assembly, inspection, and troubleshooting.
- Experience in harness assembly and following wiring/PCBA diagrams/schematics.
- Experience in the test of RF or [A1] electronic systems.
- Experience in Altium designer and reading schematic and PCB layout files.
- Space-based electronics manufacturing experience.
- Familiarity with FPGA/ASIC test and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with the Linux operating system and embedded systems.
- Familiarity with Python and scripting fundamentals particularly for standard test equipment automation.
- Knowledge of PCBA manufacturing process
- Understanding of Non-Conformance Reporting and disposition processes
- Familiarity with standard electrical protocols and standards, such as RS422, SPI, SpaceWire, UART, etc.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of experience working in an electronics development or assembly and test environment.
