SAIC is seeking a top-notch Space Planner to join our talented team. As this role is multi-purpose, a background in Property & Leasing will be highly valued. A candidate with experience in government real estate acquisition, management, disposal, and space utilization is needed. 

This position is responsible for developing enterprise-wide policy regarding space, ensuring the customer is utilizing their space effectively, and managing the customer's real property.  To qualify for this role, you must have an active TS/SCI Clearance with Polygraph or be able to obtain one. While this position is located in Chantilly, VA we are able to accommodate temporary office space in El Segundo, CA.

Responsibilities for the Space Planner include:

  • Support and coordinate with the real property team
  • Reporting progress towards performance metrics for facility optimization and utilization
  • Performing site surveys and annual needs assessment updates with input from all stakeholders
  • Developing alternative courses of action and make recommendations to senior leadership
  • Maintain space utilization data in the identified enterprise software system
  • Participate and provide inputs, when necessary, for the assortment of enterprise-wide space meetings to ensure stakeholders are informed and all activities are coordinated
  • Create the policy for internal move activities

Responsibilities as a Property & Leasing Specialist include:

  • Analyze the development of customer requirements, cost estimates, market surveys, site evaluation and selection, and competitive or sole source acquisition processes and the preparation and maintenance of lease documentation.
  • Analyze the implementation of policies and procedures for real property lease management.
  • Prepare real estate briefings, staff papers, and responses to a wide variety of data calls and briefings for customers and senior leadership.
  • Analyze strategic facilities space occupancy metrics and coordinate closely with customer on future facility requirements based on growing mission requirement and develop a Strategic Space Plan.

Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI with polygraph or be ability to obtain one
  • Bachelor's degree with 15 years professional experience, Masters with 13 years experience or PhD with 10 years experience
  • Note: Additional years professional experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in IC or DOD or 10 years in the Commercial Sector
  • Below experience could be included within 5 or 10 years of experience, respectively, above:
    • 2+ years of experience using Archibus to analyze and report of space
    • 2+ years of experience using BOMA, or similar, standards for determining usable space 
    • 2+ years of AutoCad experience
    • 2+ years overseeing and managing facility projects (moves, designs, and/or construction)
  • Willingness to take the initiative and support the customer without direction
  • Knowledge of federal acquisition regulations (FARs), federal property management, and general services administration acquisition regulations.
  • 2+ years of experience with federal or commercial leasing or real property, including facilities, property management, or contract administration.
  • Knowledge of International Facilities Management Association (IFMA) and Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) best practices for facilities space standards.
  • Ability to travel within the US.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an Architectural or Interior Design Field
  • Project Management Institutes’ PMP or equivalent project management certification
