The duties of this hands-on job will include performing and recording lab tests on soybeans, soybean oil and soybean meal according to company policy and standard laboratory practices, as well as maintaining a clean laboratory and keeping supplies in stock by conducting inventories and placing orders as needed.

This work will mostly be in the lab, but you will be required to travel throughout the facility, sometimes in challenging conditions. Experience in a Soybean Processing Plant, refinery, mill, or grain elevator would be helpful, but is not required.

While we are preparing to open the plant, the hours will be mostly day shift. Once the plant is open (~July 2024) we will need to staff the lab with technicians working 1st shift (7am to 3:30pm), mid-shift (11am to 7:30pm) and 2nd shift (3pm to 11:30pm). There will some overtime, including weekends. We are planning to hire technicians who have some flexibility with the hours they can work.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience in a Processing Plant, refinery, mill, or elevator is preferred
• Available to work off hours and weekends
• Professional demeanor (safety conscious, quality of job performance, cleanliness, and verbal communications)
• Physical requirements
• This job can be physically active
• You may have to work in tight and confined spaces
• You may have to work at heights
• You will need the ability to sometimes lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds and occasionally more
• This job will require the ability to ascend/descend ladders
• You will be required to wear PPE
