Title: Solutions Architect - Firmware
Location: Hybrid Onsite in Lake Forest, CA (3 days/week in office)
Terms: Full Time / Direct Hire
Salary Range: $120 – 180K
JOB SUMMARY
Our client is the largest global supplier of intelligent access solutions. When you've walked through an automatic door, stayed in a hotel, or gone through passport control, you've probably used one of my client's products or services. Our offering covers products and services related to openings, such as locks, doors, gates and entrance automation solutions. This also includes expertise in controlling identities with keys, cards, tags, mobile and biometric identity verification systems. They are the market leader in IoT, smart connectivity, locksets, high security key systems, door closers, exit devices, electro-mechanical products, and access control systems for new construction, renovation, and replacement applications.
This role is in the HHI division (Hardware & Home Improvement), part of a Firmware team of architects and developers on a mission to develop best-in-class smart locks and make them part of everyday life. HHI already has a varied portfolio of innovative products, including patented SmartKey technology and electronic, smart and biometric locks.
You will continue the good work across multiple cutting-edge technologies, developing next generation of smart locks as part of smart home devices and IoT systems.
- It can be highly complex, engaging work, covering battery, WIFI (AX/AC/N etc.) / BLE (blue tooth low energy), machine to machine networking including MQTT (IoT messaging), TCP/IP, HTTP etc., hardware/firmware security, cloud computing (AWS, Azure, GCP), Alexa/Google Home/Apple's Siri, data/analytics, AI, mobile apps and secure OTA (over the air connection security).
- This is a senior role within the team, so we're looking for a strong, clear and effective communicator who is comfortable working with external partners and liaising with outsourced technical support in India.
- You will actively foster and nurture our One Team culture, sharing knowledge, expertise and ideas to help grow our reputation for the most innovative, hi-tech locks in the world.
- You will establish yourself as the subject matter expert, mentor engineers and lead technology exploration with autonomy.
Requirements
- You must have: · A minimum of 7 years' design experience in a highly technical and analytical role.
- In-depth knowledge of C/C++, Java/Python, RTOS/bare metal for embedded applications
- At least five years' experience in developing embedded and/or IoT product.
- Experience in high-reliability firmware design, including agile development methodology.
- Exposure to the full firmware development life cycle: requirements, design, coding, testing and integration of low power systems.
Work Environment:
- Working conditions are normal for an office environment.
- Hybrid work in office at least 3 days/week.
