Participates in the concepting and estimating of mainly low to medium automation MHE systems; Develops system concept layouts and proposal drawings; Produces material list of equipment and Mechatronics Engineering cost; Submits quote requests to Purchasing and assists in evaluating the quotes from vendors; Reviews estimating inputs for completeness, accuracy, and compatibility; Maintains a complete set of project engineering records on all assignments; Participates in technical reviews and price review meetings; Recommends ideas for improving procedures, quality, designs, applications, and equipment; Keeps management apprised of quote status; Obtains approvals, as required, for final pricing; Follows company, department and project procedures, work instructions and practices; and Maintains awareness of the latest company product design and developments, and current costing.
The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $65,000 - $140,000 at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills.
Tasks and Qualifications:
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Controls Engineer, or closely related field and 2 years' experience as a Solution Engineer, Mechatronic Engineer, Controls Engineer or closely related occupation in the Material Handling Systems industry. Also requires 2 years' experience with PLC Allen Bradley and Siemens; Industrial Networks (Ethernet, ASI, Profibus); Vision Maintenance Systems; Sensor Scanners (SICK and Cognex); Softwares: Studio 5000, RSLogix 5000, CET Designer, AutoCAD, ASIMON360, and designing and estimating building solutions for Dematic customers. Up to 5% travel required to various unanticipated locations. Pre-employment processing for this position requires drug testing and passing background checks.
