Reporting tot he VP, Manufacturing & Operations, the Environmental, Health, Safety, Sustainability, Manager leads Environmental, Health, Safety, and Sustainability (EHS&S) programs to assure regulatory compliance and promotes EHS&S initiatives for continuous improvement. Supports the Solta Bothell site in process improvements and incorporation of safe and environmentally sound practices in daily work.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
Note: The following are meant to be representative but not necessarily all inclusive of the duties and responsibilities for this position title.
EHS&S General Duties:
• Guide and coordinate all EHS+S efforts; maintain a current working knowledge of federal, State and local EHS&S regulations and understand how they impact the business.
• Function as the primary point-of-contact for regulatory agencies, specifically, OSHA, WISHA, Washington Labor & Industries, Washington Dept. of Ecology, USEPA, King County, City of Bothell.
• Primary point of contact for, and ensure compliance with, facility insurance requirements.
• Support and lead EHS&S programs to ensure compliance with regulations, best practices and corporate standards.
• Establish annual Health, Safety, Environmental and Sustainability goals and manage associated projects.
• Develop and deliver EHS&S training for all site employees to meet all regulatory requirements and corporate EHS&S objectives.
• Promote communication programs and encourage employee awareness of safety and environmental practices.
• Establish, maintain and update all EHS&S related SOPs and work instructions within the Quality Management System, as needed.
• Prepare annual EHS&S budget input. Assist Finance with the appropriate allocation of the EHS&S budget.
• Collect, analyze and present safety & environmental metrics to identify trends, deficiencies and achievements.
• Support facilities by providing subject matter expertise during building maintenance and enhancement projects. Ensure service contractors follow site safety procedures.
• Administer LiveSafe Bothell employee emergency notification system.
• Administer Corporate selected EHS&S Software (CORITY) for submission of required EHS&S data and reporting.
• Respond to EHS&S emergencies 24 / 7.
Health and Safety Duties:
• Respond to and investigate safety and occupational health related incidents; collaborate with department leadership to identify and complete corrective actions.
• Maintain chemical inventory and review SDS for all chemicals brought onsite. Administer SPHERA chemical database. Conduct annual chemical inventory.
• Conduct worksite risk assessments, site inspections or audits to identify existing or potential safety hazards and determine corrective or preventive measures.
• Oversee Safety Committee and Emergency Response teams. Ensure emergency response plans are updated to meet site and regulatory requirements. Function as Incident Commander during emergency incidents.
• Support facilities by providing subject matter expertise during building maintenance and enhancement projects. Ensure service contractors follow site safety procedures.
• Main site contact for L&I claims to the Bothell site.
• Complete for submission, regulatory reports including:
o OSHA 300 Log
o WISHA L&I claims and associated reporting.
o Death or dismemberment reporting (as appropriate)
Environment and Sustainability Duties:
• Coordinate all facets of hazardous waste management including storage, handling, labeling, shipping and recordkeeping.
• Obtain & maintain first responder certification and respond to emergencies 24 / 7.
• Respond to environmental incidents and complaint investigations.
• Develop and maintain "First-Responder" list as related to security issues.
• Complete for submission, regulatory reports including:
o Dangerous Waste Annual Report
o SARA 312
o Carbon emissions Scope 1,2&3 reporting
o Spill notifications (as appropriate)
Experience, Education, Training, Traits:
• Bachelor's degree in environmental sciences, or equivalent experience with safety management, industrial hygiene or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience as an environmental/safety and facilities professional.
• Experience in a medical device or regulated manufacturing site preferred.
• Knowledge of federal, state and local regulatory requirements.
• Working knowledge of facility physical plant equipment and processes.
• Demonstrated ability to control costs and analyze cost effectiveness of services and supplies.
• PC proficiency to include MS Office Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Access.
• Excellent planning, time management, communication, decision making, organization, and people skills.
• Ability to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with employees at every level of an organization.
• Performs with minimal supervision, acts promptly, seeks solutions to resolve unexpected problems, and routinely makes practical decisions.
• Multi-tasker who adapts to changes in work priorities.
• Interest and willingness to learn; does what needs to be done without being asked; effective use of available resources.
As required by law, Bausch Health provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in the US. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. For this role, the range of starting pay for this role is $90K to 150K
