Job Title:Education Experience Assistant Manager - Special Accounts

Function: Education

Reports To: Director of Education

Location:404 5th Ave, NYC


Job Summary:

The Redken Education Experience Assistant ManagerSpecial Accounts (EEAM – Special Accounts) will be responsible and accountable for the management, negotiations, timelines, agendas, execution, budgets, day-to day operations & execution of assigned Gloss Boss On Tour, Blonde Ambition events and assigned programs in the field. The Redken Education Experience Assistant Manager will work in collaboration with the Redken Directors of Education, EEM’s, and the distributor education teams to create the ideal adult learning environment to help hairdressers become inspired and promote loyalty to the Redken brand.


Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Works directly with Directors of Education to lead all Redken Gloss Boss On Tour Programs / Blonde Ambition Classes / special projects (under 300 attendees) from beginning to end including:

  • coordinates the logistics of locations, contracting venue, floor plan, utilities, AV, Room Block, F&B, badges, show orders, Artists, Presenters, Salesforce entries, budget, reconciliation and activities.
  • Requires strong project management skills, ability to manage timelines & clear communication skills.
  • Issue “Requests for Proposals” and negotiate contracts with venues and suppliers. Submit RFP into Redken Brand and follow through all steps according to L’Oreal policy to completion of all signatures.
  • Supervises and coordinates the daily activities, build and maintain calendar for assigned marketplace; create and maintain Salesforce records, track and report attendance, sell outs and cancellations.
  • Track all event deadlines, ensuring everything is on-time and on-task.
  • Review proposals and make recommendations to management based on brand image and budget.
  • Develop recommendations of Gloss Boss On Tour planograms and how this will impact the Education, Sales and Marketing objectives of the brand. Coordinate all the fixture & merchandising elements with venue.
  • Jobs on this career band have a knowledge management focus and are primarily responsible for results achieved through their own work.
  • Set up Event ID in Sales Force, Assign artists, track class information, become Kelly OCG approver for all hire vendors. Reconcile CTA monthly.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with warehouse team, manage the logistics of all brand properties in the storage, including biannual audit.
  • Brief all graphics and collateral materials used for any event and work closely with the brand marketing teams.
  • Upload all Gloss Boss On Tour tiles to Level Loyalty / redkenpro.com / Saloncentric.
  • Work closely with Finance Personnel to manage purchases orders and invoicing procedures to ensure timely processing of invoices and event budgets are balanced, reflected accurately.
  • Vendor bill reconciliation, which include an audit of charges for services and bill-backs to internal departments including the reconciliation of the dept CMC on a bimonthly basis.
  • Onsite execution is required, therefore monthly travel is necessary, approx. twice a month.
  • Create and report post event analytics.
  • Create an accurate account of event expenses and budget; manage budgets throughout planning process and review final budget with Education Event Manager
  • Communicate cancellations, potential cancellations, and sold-out classes to Stores, Sales and key stakeholders.
  • Communicate with Saloncentric Product Fulfillment Coordinator to coordinate all event education logistics: class supply and product deliveries and pick-ups, call tags and equipment.

  • Participate in all corporate events inclusive of Divisional Meetings and Sales meetings.
  • Supports brand events, Special Accounts and shows as directed.
  • Upholds L’Oreal policies and procedures for all working relationships with salons.
  • Attends and participates in all Brand Artist Trainings.
  • Maintains technical competence under L’Oreal/PPD standards.
  • Attends divisional meetings and sales meetings as directed.
  • Maintain the brand Image as defined by the NYO.


Judgment and Decision Making:

  • This position requires intermittent supervision as incumbent will be working independently the majority of the time in the field directly with our brand, distributor and account partners.

Essential Physical Requirements:

  • Extensive travel within United States (driving, flying, train, etc.), lifting of promotional materials and products up to 25 pound which may also require bending.

Financial Scope:

  • Annual Revenue Responsibility: 15% growth of accounts attending programs.

Administration:

  • Monthly education status commentary for territory
  • Keep Outlook calendar current.
  • EMS event entry for field/education activities
  • T&E submitted in a timely manner as per policy.
  • Maintain updated Salon Success Plans
  • Complete necessary tracking as per request
  • Pre/Post Key Meetings Recaps


Job Requirements

  • High School graduate. College graduates a plus.
  • Current licensed cosmetologist with min. 5 years industry experience a plus
  • Must live in NYC area and report to 404 5th Ave NYC
  • Meeting Planning experience / CMP a plus
  • Superior sales and communication skills
  • Ability to analyze client business objectives and propose a solution that benefits both the brand and the client.
  • An understanding of Salon Centric / Distributor educational planning as it relates to class policies, timelines, use of field, contract trainers and event P & L
  • Ability to plan, develop, and adhere to budgets, for all field training activity and T&E
  • Strong facilitation skills
