Job Title: Solar Performance Engineer – Renewable Energy

Position Summary:
As a Solar Performance Engineer, you will provide support to various departments including Pre-Construction, Estimating and Procurement, Design, Commissioning, Operations, Warranty, and O&M. You will create, update, and evaluate energy models for solar projects within the McCarthy portfolio as well evaluate facility energy generation.
This is a full-time office-basedposition that requires occasional travel (10% on average) to locations that span the continental US.
Key Responsibilities
- Review contractual agreements and associated documents.
- Work with Pre-Construction teams to align system information for input into PVsyst.
- Communicate lessons learned from field teams on energy-related items back to precon/design.
- Participate in subcontract exhibit/scope reviews.
- Participate in design reviews: Civil, PV Electrical, Substation, Tracker, BESS, and SCADA.
- Support site team in coordination and development of Acceptance Test plans.
- Conduct site Acceptance Tests and data analysis summary for delivery to all applicable parties.
- Coordinate between scopes of work that affect facility energy generation.
- Lead site performance reporting and analysis post construction, as applicable.
- Support post construction groups on performance related claims or issues.
Skills & Qualifications
- 2+ years of solar energy modeling experience required.
- Experience with PVsyst software is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in STEM related field preferred.
- PV capacity testing experience preferred.
- Excels at problem solving and critical thinking.
- Demonstrates a keen dedication to detail and expert organizational skills.
