Solar Battery and MPU Electrician
Residential/Commercial Solar MPU Electrician
Full-Time
Position Summary
The Electrician is responsible for providing the technical expertise and perform electrical work for residential solar projects, specifically PV installations, Battery installations and residential main panel changeouts. Minimum of 3 per week with a maximum of 4 per week depending on desired workload. Ability to per visit jobsites and plan for needed material to insure a smooth installation is a absolute MUST. Most of the projects this position will on is Tesla Powerwalls, and MPU's PV is assigned based on job flow.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Develop Safely plan and Follow all OSHA guidelines as the Forman on the project\
- Complete Main Panel Upgrades (MPU), MPU relocations, Feeders, Risers, and sub panel changeouts.
- Cleanly remove minimal amount of siding or stucco inorder to free the homes main panels and change out with new equipment per plan
- Ability to install framing as necessary to support the new service panel installation
- Ability to install NEW riser for overhead service
- Ability and confidence to assist in the disconnect and reconnect of the utility power with the Utility worker onsite
- Ensure that the work is performed in a neat and workmanlike manner and compliant with all State and local codes and standards
- Assemble all components of a residential solar system, “WALL” when necessary
- Diagnose and troubleshoot system components to resolve electrical issues
- Interface with leadership to ensure compliance with electrician/labor ratios and continuing education requirements
- Follow OSHA, NEC, AHJ and Utility requirements
- Work with crew and complete all portions of Photovoltaic systems installs (PV)
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical components and system issues.
- Follow all safe work practices.
- Provide top-notch customer service throughout the installation
- Upload photos and update job status in the company database when work is complete
- Strong knowledge and experience of conduit bending (EMT) ability to produce quality day after day.
- Perform service maintenance and repairs as needed
- Perform other related duties, as assigned.
- Document work by taking pictures and completing work orders
Qualifications Requirements
- Ability to drive a vehicle during the normal course of business
- Must maintain a clean driving record with the ability to pass a driving background check
- Background Checks are performed before hiring and must be completed
- Minimum 3 years of electrical installation and repair experience
- Working knowledge of current NEC/ CEC codes
- Depending on the region, may be required to hold a Journeyman/Journeywoman License or higher
- Must have working knowledge and experience replacing residential electrical services and distribution panels
- Ability to effectively manage work to achieve required timelines
- Must be experienced with all required hand and power tools associated with the electrical trade and have proper tools of the trade
- Strong interpersonal/human relations skills
- Ability to read and interpret single- and three-line drawings
- Ability to work safely in a branch/warehouse
- Ability to interact with co-workers and participate in meetings
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
