Software Test Engineer

Johnson & Johnson MedTech, is recruiting for a Software Test Engineer, located Santa Clara, CA (not remote).

As the Software Test Engineer in Johnson & Johnson MedTech, you will play a critical role in developing and performing Software Testing for our groundbreaking robotic surgical platform. In this role, you will design and develop test cases and protocols to verify software functionality, using numerous testing methods including functional, integration, and system testing. We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, diligent, detailed oriented, and can work independently and function well within in a team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work closely with development teams to test new features, identify defects, and solve issues found
• Install software on robotic platform and perform testing on release candidate builds.
• Conduct feature adhoc and exploratory testing during the development test cycle along with bug verification
• Participate in technical design reviews of requirements, specifications, and test protocols
• Author, maintain, and execute test protocols against subsystem specifications to confirm intended design performance.
• Automate test cases using in-house developed test software and scripts in conjunction with manual test execution

Qualifications

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, And Experience:

• BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
• 2+ years of hands-on Software Testing experience preferably with complex medical devices.
• Good communication, analytical & presentation skills, problem solving skills, learning attitude and demonstrated ability to work effectively with onshore teams.
• Experience with automated GUI testing tools.
• Experience with JIRA or any similar defect tracking tool.
Experience with JAMA or similar requirements management tools

Preferred Experience:

• Experience working with software, firmware and hardware.
• Experience testing software for complex electro-mechanical or robotics systems
• Experience with networking tools for troubleshooting issues related to data transfer and performance across a network.
• Experience with medical device industry or other regulated industry
Ability to travel up to 10%, international and domestic, is required

The anticipate salary for this position is $101k - $162,725.
