Software Solution Engineer

As a Senior Software Engineer at NGA, you’re not just writing code; you’re shaping the future of intelligence. This role offers a unique blend of creativity, technical prowess, and societal impact. Whether you are building responsive interfaces or optimizing data processing pipelines, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and modernizing the tools required to advance national security, disaster response, and global intelligence.
Employ your problem-solving skills to advance NGA’s research and development mission by designing and maintaining innovative Software Solutions to ensure accurate and timely geospatial intelligence production. You will function as a bridge between innovation and impact. Not only will you participate in the development of legacy Software Solutions, but you will also contribute to strategic goals for the construction and procurement of modernized software architectures and infrastructure, perpetuating a state of continual innovation for geospatial intelligence standards.  
As the Senior Software Engineer, you will navigate complex problems related to software application design, development, and user experience to promote efficiency and effectiveness in operating methods, processes, systems, and procedures. You will develop, modify, and apply rigorous standards to ensure optimal software performance and validate the high-quality status of deliverables. As the Senior Software Engineer, you will conduct back-end inspections through meticulous software testing which will allow you to recognize disparities in current intelligence capabilities. From these assessments, you will utilize your programming proficiencies to identify these inefficiencies, develop and implement contemporary automations and algorithms, and deploy comprehensive operating criteria for robust Software Solutions and maintenance processes to satisfy quality metrics, assure product compliance, and ensure seamless user interactions.
Requirements: 

• Current TS/SCI clearance with active CI Polygraph
• Bachelor's Degree + 12 years of experience OR Master's Degree + 9 years of experience OR Doctorate Degree + 7 years of experience
• Ability to identify inadequacies in intelligence data
• Familiar with Research and Development procedures
• Proficiency in software programming - Python, Flask, SQLAlchemy, Restx, JavaScript
• Proficient in React, Nodejs for application/visualization production
• Proficient in SQL for data manipulation, transformation, aggregation, and integration
• Proficient in Postgres for efficient data management, analysis, and source application development
• Proficient in GIT for efficient version control and collaborative development
• Proficient in Docker for application containment/deployment
• Proficient in Kubernetes for data configuration and scalability
• Proficient in Java for data processing, integration, and rendering
