Job description

Position Summary
As a Software Quality Assurance Analyst and Tester at the Journeyman/Senior level, you will function as the Test Lead for the Modeling & Simulation Enterprise Applications (MSEA) product suite supporting modeling and simulation (M&S) environments; trainer systems; test and evaluation (T&E); analysis; live, virtual and constructive (LVC); research and development (R&D) activities for DoD agencies and its international partners. You will be leading the NGTS Testing team for the MSEA branch. You will be testing software for an advanced synthetic training environment. This software is integrated into flight simulators to support pilot training against potential threats. You will support software development, software integration, testing, customer training and demonstrations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Duties include, but not limited to:
  • Install and run regression tests on a new NGTS test build (multiple builds weekly).
  • Test a variety of Jira issues from new feature implementation to bug fixes to database queries.
  • Document test results discovered issues in Jira.
  • Collaborate with NGTS software developers and subject matter experts during training sessions.
  • Create new test procedures documents to validate new requirements.
  • Communicate access a large team to verify correct procedures and software issue diagnosis.
  • Run extensive regression tests when software reaches Release Candidate (RC) phrase.

Requirements
Minimum Requirements
Knowledge and Skills
The required skills and knowledge include:
  • Leading a software testing team using Agile & Waterfall Development Methodologies.
  • Testing/developing software products.
  • Experience with scripting, database, and programming languages such as C++.
  • Experience and/or training in a high-level programming language such as C++ and MATLAB.

The minimum years of related experience required:
  • 4+ years

Education
The minimum level of education required is:
  • BS/BA degree in Engineering Technology, Cyber Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, Operations Research, Data Analytics, or Engineering.

Desired Requirements
The desired skills, knowledge, and education include:
  • Experience with scripting, database, and programming languages in Python 3, and HTML.
  • Prior experience supporting Model and Simulation efforts.
  • Prior experience supporting automated testing

Other Qualifications
Outside of the above, other certifications, licenses, or clearances include:
  • Must be able to obtain DoD Secret security clearance.
  • Must be able to obtain DoD Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.
